Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) are class of chemical compounds which are present naturally in crude oil, gasoline, coal etc. and are also produced by inefficient burning of fossil fuels and garbage. PAHs are not only a concern for environment but also pose a risk for human health. Primarily these are considered to be carcinogenic and genotoxic and associated with incidences of lung, skin and bladder cancer.
It is therefore essential to test water and beverages for presence of PAH to determine their level of concentration and estimate potential health hazards. At VIMTA, we offer a comprehensive range of testing for identification and quantification of a large number of PAHs in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
