Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) are living cells with a purposefully modified genetic code. GMO are developed to help farmers produce better yielding crops, incorporate enhanced nutritional properties or produce their new varieties, some of which may be targeted to serve a specific purpose as having herbicidal or insecticidal properties.

However, sometimes GMO products can mix with non-GMO products thus necessitating the need for testing to provide accurate labelling. Testing is also required to ensure that GM foods are safe for consumption. At VIMTA, we offer comprehensive services for detection of GMO in accordance with the regulatory requirements.
