AGMARK is a certification mark for agricultural products in India, which assures that the products conform to defined standards known as AGMARK standards. These standards are prescribed under the provision of Agricultural Produce (Grading and Marking) Act, 1937 and classify the respective agricultural products in 2 – 3 grades. The grades are based on the intrinsic quality of commodities and other parameters such as cleanliness, active components etc., and help the farmers or traders get an apt price for their products commensurate with the quality produced.

AGMARK grading thus facilitates marketing of agricultural products with ease as it makes it convenient for both the consumer as well as the producer to differentiate between the products on the basis of quality.
