Genetic Toxicology

The genetic toxicology services primarily assess the potential of the test article for induction of genetic mutation or chromosomal damage using a battery of tests. Though the genetic toxicology tests are a mandatory requirement for all classes of drugs and chemicals, the testing methodology is unique for each class of drug and chemical compound. At VIMTA, we perform a wide range of genetic toxicology testing to meet the specific test article requirements. Our service offerings include:

  • Bacterial reverse mutation test (ames test) (Salmonella typhimurium, Escherichia coli)
  • Mammalian cell gene mutation test (mouse lymphoma L5178Y tk +/-cells HPRT)
  • In vitro / In vivo mammalian chromosome aberration test
  • In vitro / In vivo micronucleus test
  • In vitro / In vivo comet assay
